Media.InvaLife is an online media outlet of the public association INODA “InvaLife” covering the rights and lives of people with disabilities in Transnistria and around the world.

Who we are

Media.InvaLife is an online media outlet founded by the public association INODA “InvaLife” (Tiraspol). We write about the rights and everyday lives of people with disabilities: laws and government decisions, accessible cities and services, education, work, health, technology, sport and culture.

Who we work for

People with disabilities and their families, professionals, civil society organisations, journalists and everyone who cares about a society without barriers. We publish in four languages: Russian, Romanian, Ukrainian and English.

Our principles

• Accuracy. We rely on documents, official sources and the voices of the people a story is about, and we say where information comes from.
• Human fact-checking. Every piece is read and checked by an editor before publication: facts, figures, quotes and references to legislation.
• Accessibility. We write in plain language, describe images and make sure the site works with screen readers and from the keyboard.
• Respect. We write about people, not diagnoses, and avoid stereotypes and demeaning wording.
• Editorial independence. The newsroom alone decides what to publish and how. The founder, partners and advertisers do not interfere with editorial work.
• Clear labelling of advertising. Advertising and partner content is always labelled “Advertisement” or “Partner content”.

Artificial intelligence

The newsroom uses artificial intelligence tools as an assistant: to find news, produce draft translations, prepare descriptions and check spelling. Only a person decides what is published - every piece is checked and approved by an editor. See “How we use AI” for details.
