Transnistria Simplifies Driver's License Renewal and Clarifies Parking Rules Near Ramps
New traffic rules in Transnistria: from license renewal to vehicle impoundment

The Supreme Council of the PMR has approved a series of legislative amendments affecting the daily lives of motorists. The updates cover the procedure for obtaining driver's licenses, stricter penalties for technical violations, and new parking restrictions aimed at improving road safety and discipline.
Significant changes have been made to parking regulations. It is now prohibited to park vehicles less than one meter from staircases, entrances, and ramps. This rule does not apply to people with group I and II disabilities, citizens transporting children or adults with disabilities, or situations involving the brief unloading of luggage or dropping off passengers.
Special oversight has been established for taxi drivers and minibus operators: they are prohibited from picking up and dropping off passengers in areas marked with a "No Stopping" sign. Violators face a fine. Moreover, if this prohibitive sign is accompanied by an information plate indicating towing, an unattended vehicle will be forcibly removed to a specialized impound lot.
Thus, the state is establishing stricter liability frameworks for disregarding vehicle stopping rules.
Who is affected
