European Disability Forum trains AI trainers to teach people with disabilities
The European Disability Forum has completed the first cohort of its AI trainer training program.

The European Disability Forum, with financial support from Google.org and methodological guidance from MinnaLearn, has successfully completed the first stage of the AI trainer program under the Empowered by AI project.
In mid-September 2026, around twenty selected specialists completed an intensive online course to subsequently train at least 200 Europeans with disabilities in the safe and effective use of artificial intelligence in their daily and professional lives.
Immersion in methodology and independent work
The kickoff meeting on September 10 introduced participants to the full learning pathway, their future responsibilities, and study materials. The future trainers' toolkit included an online module and a set of resources for conducting practical sessions. Following the introductory block, the specialists spent two weeks studying the content independently.
Consolidating knowledge and a personalized approach
Skills practice took place during two subsequent sessions held on September 28 and October 2. The small-group format allowed participants to discuss their accumulated experience, ask questions to the supervisors, and receive personalized recommendations from the facilitators. The graduates of the first cohort are now ready for the practical phase.
Scaling knowledge and social objectives
They will now act as knowledge multipliers within their national organizations. The key ambition of the initiative is for each of the 20 trainers to prepare at least 10 mentees. This will bring the total reach to 200 people with disabilities across Europe.
The project ultimately aims to build sustainable competencies among the target audience, enabling them to confidently apply algorithms in their work and daily lives.
Who is affected
